  • Well i say we should all be linguistic, i speak two languages and am in my way to learn my third then my fourth which would be French and last but not least my fifth which is the one i Really want to learn and that would be Japanese. I see languages as a way to explore ones culture and by me doing do i become more in tune to outside cultures that i wouldnt have known of otherwise. It does not hurt...I say shame on people, why should you limit yourself to only one.

  • This is one of those goin into the heart. You either gotto love love it or hate hate it. You know from this whether he's your guy or not, for sure

  • @ttiiyy EU countries don't have this massive debt that the US has. Also, they have the best wine, the best vacation spots, and less crime. Although personally, I prefer Japan.

  • If we can't speak French learn German and speak to the French in a language they would be speaking now without USA. The French have had a history with that language.

  • What's so great about Europe anyway? Greece is fucked, Spain is fucked. And some experts predict that Italy will be the next Spain. So what's so great about Europe? All these countries might be doing worse than we are(not that we are in a better condition).

Also, it's a PATHETIC lie that Europeans claim that they can all communicate with each other because they can speak each other's language. Back in the old days, the language that EVERYONE used was French. It's now English.

  • Do conservatives REALLY have zero problems wtih the way Americans behave or act in ANY way today? Do they REALLY think we're a perfect fucking nation? Come on! No nation is perfect, for christ sake. "My country right or wrong" is the worst idea ever. You should hold your country accountable when it screws up and praise her when she does good. You'd do the same for your kids, subordinates, etc.

America is not God for christ sake.

  • Well, if your country or your countrymen are doing STUPID, EMBARRASSING things, why is it not ok to call them out on it? I'm so SICK of this bullshit from the Right that you can't EVER criticize this country or its people. Because if you do, you're somehow "elitist" or "doesn't believe in America" or some nonsensical crap like that. You've gotta have unquestioning loyalty to America, just like a dog to his master. I mean, WTF. It's fucking infantile is what it is.

    It's irrational.

  • @NEKOCHANNiE Differences between low and big spoken languages are important, but it will continue this way in the future. The most spoken languages today will be even more spoken in the future, such as Chinese, English, Spanish, and of course, French, which is the second most learned language in the world after English.

But I don't really understand why some people are bored and annoyed about it. Is it just beacause Frenc people don't want to study foreign languages ?? Or something else ??

  • @NEKOCHANNiEI understand your point of view, but here is the thing : I will take per exemple Danish people. No one in the world also speaks Danish. Same thing for Swedish or German. So, they have to learn another language to establish communication with other people. But for French, the situation is different. There are so many other French speaking-places in the world, so they don't feel like they MUST learn another language. French is important, that's all.

  • @NEKOCHANNiE It will even overtake Hindi (spoken in India) and reach number four in the most spoken language in the world, just behind Spanish. So no, France is not the only country. And by the way, the country which has the biggest population of French speakers is not France.

  • @shewiki116 Well, I'm talking about europe. And I'm tired of the french special status in europe. Everything that is concerning all of europe is in english....and in french. (I'm thinking about things such as eurovision song contest) Why should everyone learn english, but the french people don't have to? I believe there are more german-speaking viewers than french of ESC, so why not translate it into german?

  • @NEKOCHANNiE French is the second most spoken language in Europe after German, but the second most learned one after English. In the entire world, French is the second most learned language after English. By 2020, giving the improving situation in French speaking-part of Africa and the increasing number of people living in French speaking-part of elswhere in the world, there could be 700 millions French speakers in the world, which makes 10% of humanity.
