Harmonica Lesson: Playing a Box Shuffle

In this video, I try to comprehensively teach you how to play one of my favorite blues bass-lines. It's a long video, but I wanted to make absolutely sure you guys could learn this.

Key: B = Blow, D = Draw, b means bend a half step, and bb means bend a whole step.

lead into the first phrase with this lick, or just pause for two beats:

1D, 2B, 3B, 2B. . . 2D (first note of the pattern)

Hey Dan, could you explain how many bars of each i got a little lost toward the end it seemed unclear toward the last few bars Thanks for these video's..

@droverboy1 did you click on "show more" and read the tab? the "X" values or "times" = number of bars. If you look at the tab, you'll see it adds up to 12 bars total.

@BrounWright keep working on it. make sure your harp is of decent quality (more than $15 US). Then, keep working on it. Oh, and try to relax and breathe. Don't huff and puff so much.

@12gagedan Actually I've continued working on them, and I can get them now. I'm polishing up the tone. And no, I don't use a $15 harmonica - I've got a Seydel 1847.

Hi Dan i watched this lesson about a year ago then promptly forgot all about it then last night it popped back into my brain when i was sleeping so i tracked it back down because it's a great lesson so thanks for putting it up there cos i reckon this is a really important and quite fundamental lesson to master.
