Actually I remember the summer of 5th grade 1987 my whole neighborhood knowing License To Ill word for word... song for song...we would all get together on the steps and just rap it all day!!I I am black from a multi-racial neighborhood. EVERYBODY loved Licensed To Ill...it is the 1st album I fell in love with PERIOD!! Run DMC was dope but Beastie Boys were just filled with so much personality and comedy...they really took hip-hop to a level where everybody felt they could be apart of it!

no...its just that i don't like hip hop with repetitive, predictable flow like the Beasties have done again and again and again and again and again for 25+ fucking years. To me, the best MC's of all time are Rakim, Kane, KRS-ONE, etc.

I am a black dude raised in an all black neighborhood. License to Ill is one of the best rap albums of all times. The Beastie Boys are one of the best rap groups, black or white. Lots of folk on here are calling Raising Hell the best rap album of all time, I cant dispute that, but RUN DMC's first album will give any rap album a run for it's money. DAMN that album was great!!

NOT TO BE RACIST, BUT IT'S THE TRUTH MOST BLACK ARTIST DON'T WANT TO SEE WHITE RAPPERS RAP, THEY FEEL THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO ALL DO ROCK AND SO SOME GET BULLIED FROM THE RAP SCENES. BEASTIE BOYS DID NOT GET BULLIED BECAUSE THEY WERE A GROUP AND LIKE EMINEM HAS FRIENDS TO BACK HIM UP!

Seen Eric Sermon sums it up. I was born 1980 it goes this way for me being a white dude growing up in southside Funky Town Ft Worth in those magic times. #1 Run DMC #2 Beasties #3 LL #4 NWA #5 Eric B & Rakim. Once those names were all in and established, hip hop was official.
