Elsewhere on YouTube you'll find a different version of Melody of Love by Dorothy Collins from the legendary live television show YOUR HIT PARADE. On Feb. 26, 1955, the song had reached the top (NUMBER ONE) status, and Dorothy got to sing it as a love-struck lady out in the country with her photographer boyfriend. At the end of the clip, Dorothy is joined by the entire Hit Parade cast as she, Gisele MacKenzie, Russell Arms, Snooky Lanson and Raymond Scott perform the show's classic closing theme, So Long for Awhile.

Ah you have fine tastes! Not only was "Melody of Love" Number One, but MS Collins certainly was too...and for more than just one or two weeks! What a lovely voice...after ALL these years, I still miss seeing her and Gisele MacKenzie every Saturday night. Things haven't been the same...nor will they ever be again! What a grand show "Your Hit Parade" was...a true classic!

YOU ARE RIGHT ON..Miss Collins was great.i saw her in the musical -FOLLIES_on broadway twice.she was absolutely great in that broadway show.i really miss it too-your hit parade.i saw Miss .Collins in summer stock in South Pacific.Again great.-she died so young,but we have these great memories of her .she was a great singer,..what a beautiful song-MELODY OF LOVE-and she sang it with such clarity.-we miss it all.-Your hit parade-live tv at its best.thanks for this segment of Miss.Collins.3276541.
