  • So caps dnt really wrk??

  • @jesse9970 Some people like um and some don't. I always say get a better battery if your having voltage problems

  • Whats the advantage to having a cap versus not really. Is it worth the time n money or is it just for show?

  • @PULGACOYOTE Some people like um and some don't. Its kinda up to you

  • "And your dog" earned you an instant thumbs up lol

  • Just for the record, The color of the wires is for the next person that owns the car and is not sure how the previous owner wired it( the color is for safe-T) do not trust two red wires coming from the front to the back in the same direction( always use a meter to test the polarity of your wire if you see this)

  • High output alternator can get pricey(350+),,stock bat with high fared caps are for the budget,,deep cycle batt and at least a 2 farred per 1000 watt

    XS Power D925 (180)battery and a SPL CP8.0 8 Farad Hybrid Super CAPACITOR,(70)

so ya get a 2000 amp batt and a 8-farrod cap for just over 250,that should be fine up to 3000 to 4000watts on stock alt,,

  • @PULGACOYOTE it helps for when your lights dim when the bass hits hard (mostly older cars). but yes SOME weird people have them for show. lol

  • I wouldnt suggest it. Your better of with a bigger battery because your putting less load (=less wear) on a battery. A capacitor just lowers the current draw by spreading it over a longer amount of time basically (but the energy draw is just as big). THis results in a lower voltage drop. But volts droppin just show that your charging system cant handle the load. A bigger battery or a bigger alternator will fix this.

  • Dont want to sound like a smart ass but in order to get good power, you need a better battery AND cap. You have a cap that can only handle 250 watts dude and you're bad mouthing them! All audio with subwoofers use caps! Home theatres subs use them. Caps arent expensive, the whole project can get expensive tho!

  • @casperskafs Well i had bought a brand new amp nd it does that i have it with a walmart cap thats probubly y though nd thanks for replying

  • @PULGACOYOTE A capacitor stores a charge. When your music is turned up, the power your amp draws will spike. The capacitor will discharge when that extra power is needed. It is useful if your car audio system draws too much power for your alternator to keep up. If you notice the voltometer in your dash dipping, or your lights dim when you turn your system up, you need a capacitor. Also helps to reduce noise/feedback from your vehicle through the audio system.

  • looks like your putting both pos terminals on the same point, this doesnt look like it will do anything except bypass the cap., correct me if im wrong....
