Roddick's Volleys: The Musical

Before I rant, let me just say I'm a huge Roddick fan, and I love what he brings to the game. He's got one of the best serves in history coupled with amazing groundstrokes. And he's one of the most entertaining personalities on the tour.

I just wish he had more natural talent at the net. As a spectator, I'm always frustrated when he chips a volley straight back into his opponent's hitting zone. Sometimes he's forced into awkwardness, but it's mostly because he just doesn't have the delicate touch that so many of the great serve and volleyers of the past did. It's a pity, because with such a great serve he'd win a lot more slams with better reflexes at the net...

I didn´t say he was a natural volleyer SIRRR! so get your head out of your own ass, pay close attention to some of his matches and you will realise,he can put a decent volley in sometimes,hard work sometimes compensates for not being so gifted..

i'm a huge federer fan but i've gotta say: i admire roddick's dedication to improve his volley game and become an all-court player and you could already see the results. in the past he really looked uncomfortable at the net but nowadays he has a pretty solid net game and chooses more wisely when to come to the net. that's why he stretched fed to 5 sets in last year wimby and beat nadal this year.

lol, roddick is not placing his volleys in the right places...sampras usually volleys in the opposite side of the opponent, while roddick is placing his volleys right in front of the opponent haha XD
