  • Very, very interesting. There is evidence here to supply an understanding of the mechanism of such phenomena as viral marketing success, and the spread of rumour. This joins with knowledge concerning the features of effective content, e.g. in the spread of rumour, that date back to the work of Leo Postman in the 1940s, to provide a pretty good total picture of how to make social transmission work. (Like many, or most, intellectually exciting ideas, there's a scary side to that, as well.)
