Book zero was never included in the A5 Black Box (first published in late 70's) sets but was first seen in the A4 sized delux box set (rules booklets were still A5 sized). These rules sets were published in early eighties.
This does look like a second edition book...however, the missing #1 on the copyright page does not mean what edition the book is but what printing it is. the one is missing then it is the 2nd printing.... if the one was present then the book would have a greater value being a first printing series.
That looks like lbb Classic Traveller -- The first version of the game. It may be a latter printing because I think book 0 was published after the first printing to help give novices an idea how traveller worked.

It's second edition. First edition were 1/2 size books.
