ADD is where it takes 5 minutes of pitter patter before asking an intelligible interview question.

The problem with ADD is that schools will not recognize it. Without the H a teacher belives the child is lazy and does not want to do well. I think teachers should be educated on how to teach kids especially teens with ADD. Also i think we need to understand there is a big difference between ADD and ADHD. Some kids work differently learn how to work with that. Your a teacher "Teach".

I have already had the worst that can happen, happen. My daughter self destructed in 2007. Yes it can be debilitating but if we cannot see the positive and hold on to that what else can we do?

Having ADD is like having lunch at Wendy's, it sounds really nice in theory but personal experience makes you want to crawl into hole and die.

i have ADD and some people tell me its a gift but so far the the only "gift" i've gotten from it is bad grades in school which leads to depression

First of all, you don't
"go through ADD", it is a neurological and physiological condition that is very hard to correctly identify and diagnose.
I like Dr. Hallowell, but the first guy just wastes your time. Who cares about his car rental? Get to the point without the superfluos garbage!
If you don;t know you have it, it can all but ruin your life.
