For years, Toyota has yearned to build a fun new lightweight rear-wheel-drive sports coupe in the mold of the cult Corolla Sport from the '80s. Now, at last, it's on the way with this fascinating FT-86 concept, which will bow at the 2009 Tokyo Auto Show later this month.

relax N/A 2.0 liter is fine all you really need is 200HP anything else mod on your own shit for canyons its not even about the HP =D

@gangzta006 265hp? not if it weighs under 3000lbs and it will probably weigh under 2900lbs (scion tc weight) so that would be awesome

@DarwinBlaine you wouldn't mind it having 150hp when you're paying 23k? well idk about you but the hundai genesis does exist and so does the 2011 v6 mustang and 2011 v6 camaro which all look great, and are rwd. If this doesn't have 200hp or more its not going to earn its name

The base 2.0 will have an output of 200 bhp and they will produce a turbo'd version with around 265 bhp (but cars with turbos have alot of potential power-wise)

It's not bad... I own a 86 and I will be disappointed if this thing comes out with 150 hp I mean you have 6 cylinders pushing over 300hp why the hell will it push out that low? I know that they will make a base model but whatever..... TOYOTA! If your not going to to make this car bad ass don't bother! Cuz we 86 owners will just frown on it! And if you are! just slap that Sion stamp on it and call it a TC long live the real 86 Bitches!
