In the U.S., Earth Hour sends a clear message that Americans care about our country, our planet and our future, turning the lights off on pollution and climate change, making the switch to a cleaner, safer and more secure world.

in India light turn off automatically after every 4-5 hours so we already have too many earth hours everyday lol :)

This Planet is not ours it is Gods. This is such a Secular Humanist World view. What not cut to the chase and get down to what the humanist really want. That is....read it in the "Humanist Manifesto"..Reduce human population to 500 million. Wow that would reduce the carbon problem.

easy man.....okay, just shut off your lights for an hour, is that so hard to accomplish?? see how much stains have we dumped on our Earth....it doesnt matter of "how much green house gasses can be saved", but the idea of it is to make us, human kind to realize& reflect on our own...dont you just sit there and wait 4 the scientists and engineers to create 100% free emissions cars..hey, we should play our part too!

the idea of 'earth hour' is for us humankind to reflect what have we done to the mother nature...it seems nonsense to some people but it gives inspirations to the others to think of better ideas of creating sustainable future/greener word

This idea is nuts. The whole world is going to hell and your are concerned about turning your light out for an hour. What a joke!!!! Why not just take a "shower" ever other day instead of every day, how much green house gasses would that save moron!!!
