@mjb785 I understand what you're saying. But it's a natural thing. There's always gonna be actors and directors that people prefer over others. It is indeed sad that they're not clapping for all the actors and all, but you can't expect any of them to get a bigger applause than Billy Wilder. I mean, the man wrote The Apartment! Even I got a little emotional when he came up on the screen.

Ted Ross died in September 2002. Why did they leave him out?

@zachedwards92 Rightfully so? That's actually sickening that the audience is favoring certain dead people. Rosemary Clooney got a huge applause as well. But then when certain actors like Rod Steiger, Richard Harris, Richard crenna, etc, people who obviously this audience isn't as familiar with, or maybe just doesn't really care about came on to the screen, you could hear a pin drop. Then of course the others get crapped on as well because they're not George Clooney's aunt. Shameful.

I love it when they commemorate people like the cinematographers, sound editors, costume designers, art directors, all those people who work behind the scenes.
Hi! For all of us the latin people, Katy jurado was the best and principal actress in the golden global cinema era. She was the first latin american actress to get an oscar nomination.
In México, she was admired and still she is because she lives in our hearts. Thanks and HI from México!!!
