July 2010 CT website 'Divine Drama Queen'. Look it up! One resposndent actually wrote that "no way any God of mine could be like to Old Testament one. I see not a shred of morality in that guy"! The same person goes on to write " Sometimes the greatest danger for Christians is actually reading the Old Testament".

@margyesther Apparently so...OK, was is the point? 'God loves us a whole bunch', I suppose? To portray it in this way is blasphemous. There can be no more dangerous mantra one may chant to oneself than, 'God loves me'. The bumper sticker Smile God Loves You is the WORST idea EVER! It will be small ocnsolation to those in hell that God loves or loved them. We need to fear His name and perfect holiness in tyhe fear of God, not go 'aww, it's only daddy, He won't get too upset with us.

Could he have been being sarcastic? Could he have been airing the voice of the way so many people think?.. as opposed to how He really is. Hard to judge this piece by a few small parts, out of context. Understood, not understood it is hard to call without the whole text.

And yes you are right.. god doesn't have to please... he doesnt even need us at all, but his mercy is beyond understanding. His standards are non negotiable... if you would have to pick some people to live in your house for eternity wouldnt you make sure they were people who would be compliant with all the standards you hold high in YOUR house???
