In Canada the attacks on First nations are done through children's services assaults . Attacks after confederation and treaty signing began with the Residential Schools, through sixties scoop, now in Backlash with attacks on children alleging mental illness /special needs/ intergenerational transfer cross culturally via institutions.

Sisters in Spirit Initative funding MUST be restored. Even if it were true that the committee Harper & co have created to address the issue of missing and murdered Aboriginal women in Canada were as capable as SIS and focussed on the same issues- which they most assuredly are NOT - the fact remains that to take the work away from SIS in favour of a bunch of white men is about as colonial as we can get... and we are, supposedly, beyond that now, are we not?
It is appalling.
