In my opinion Jack Hylton's version is far superior. Give it a try everyone.

Best version!

Definitely Lou Abelardo singing ......if you listen carefully you can hear his American accent. My re-issue LP covering this period has Lou singing on all tracks recorded between Sept.1929 and Jan.1930 ....... 11 in all but obviously not complete as this track is not on it..

Ambrose had the better band, but when it came to DeSylva/Brown/Henderson,Hylton was supreme in his versions

lovely song.the vocalist is not sam browne,it the american vocalist lou aberlado.Recorded in unusual place as the decca record company was born in february 1929 and had no suitable recording studio where the acoustics were good, so roamed around london

Yes, it does not sound like Sam Browne. I believe he was with Jack Hylton in 1929.
