From http://www.witness.org | In 2010, people throughout the U.S. spoke out on human rights issues in their communities as part of the United Nation's Universal Periodic Review (UPR) [ http://www.ushrnetwork.org/campaigns_upr ]. Through the Testify! Project [ http://ushrnetwork.org/testify/ ] recorded video testimonies were gathered and added to the written reports to the UN and testimonials given before U.S. government officials.
This video is a compilation of the short videos submitted from across the country provide a glimpse into contemporary human rights struggles within the U.S. Activists speak about police brutality, racism discrimination, profiling, torture, exploitation, health care, housing and indigenous rights.
Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Article 29. subarticle (3): These rights and freedoms may in no case be exercised contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations.
Kinda makes the whole dang thing ring a bit hollow, doesn't it? You have ALLLLL these rights, no defined recourse if they are violated by someone else, and if the UN's purposes go against these rights, suddenly you can't excercise them. Rather convenient for them, huh??

I'm tired of seeing all the crap about "human rights" with absolutely nothing said about the personal responsabilities that so many of these so called "victims" have shrugged off while creating their own negative situations.
