  • Climbing Tryfan for the first time in a few months, liking the vid :)

  • Just back from Tryfan. Did the North face. 60 to 70mph gusts. Sleet rain. Some spots had my poopa going. I think it was just once I thought I might really die here.

  • I climbed this mountain when I was 12 great memories

  • @nad236 Im 13, and I climbed it too ! :L

    But, I didn't drop my camera ;L

  • not as bad as it looks, depending on the route you take n they all converge at the top. at the top it stared pissing down n i found my borrowed "waterproof" pants were not! so i came straight down.

what looks FAR worse is bristly ridge, n when you get to the top of tryfan u cant miss it - its the hairy lookin fkr right in front of you......

  • @MegaTories In principle I agree with you, however it doesn't take away from the fact that there have been several fatalities on Crib Goch. However I definitely agree there are a few extremely 'hairy' places on Bristly Ridge, it felt far more precarious.

  • @fol01 I found Bristly Ridge more scary than Crib Goch. On Crib Goch you could fall a very long way in principle, but it's extremely unlikely. On Bristly Ridge I ended up somewhere where I'd "only" have fallen a few metres but it felt like I had a moderate chance of actually doing so.

  • Great fun this mountain. I'm not a climber but like a good mountain walk so there's a couple of genuine concentration required in places as long as you're good on your feet and hands. Not too big either. Recommended.

  • Any mixture of conditions from gale force winds and horizontal rain to blistering sunshine, probably in the same day and on the same route.
