Odd comparison really, Lloyd Blankfein actually funds the democratic party, i'd go as far as to say that Goldman funded the Obama campaign individually more than any other company.
Seems odd i know, seems almost counter-intuitive, could be to do with Blankfein's humble/modest roots.

I've always firmly believed that we need a balance of capitalism and socialism, giving to much to the public never works because they expect more and more and do less. Capitalism, on it's own never works either because people become more and more greedy, wanting more money and power, that's why the banks collapsed.
Obama does need to realize that you need a balance of the two, he wanted to higher the taxes, and more loans which would only increase the debt the US are in.

@Keeper1st Battle of Britain? Sorry but that wasn't the main reason we still exist, the real reason was due to the fact that Germany where fighting Russia at the same time.
People may suggest Battle Of Britain saved us, the reality was it gave us time that was all, D-Day nearly was a failure and technically was, and Operation Market Garden was a failure all accounts, it was only due to Germany eventually fighting on two front's that Germany lost.

Socialism is basically where the free personal ownership of capital, production resources and intellectual properties. You can not have a modern democracy and socialism at the same time because economic freedom is the prerequisite for democracy. And you are rather keen on democracy i believe.
