@mctabla War is happening. The ring is somewhere in that hell zone.

@mctabla Yes,you would have thought Gandalf might have pointed that out to him.....:)

@TheChickadee8 Every single guy at my secondary school had every one of these speeches memorised word for word in the mid-1980s, and that was only going of the Olivier version from 1944.
It isn't that hard to do, made easier by being very good material.

I marvel at how he can remember these lines with such passion! He did such a remarkable turn with this role, that I cannot see anyone else doing it justice.

1:45 is the beginning of such a great scene!

Henry V is indeed one of the best plays of Shakespeare! He took great pains to finish his prodigal son trilogy: The transformation of the wanton and lewd Prince Henry Monmouth to the stern and warlike King Henry V! The message of Exeter and the inspiring battle speech of King Henry, which should be recited on peace demonstrations, belong to my favourite parts of the play together with the war discourses of Fluellen; the verses about the Irish captain being an ass in warfare are undying indeed.
If they had shown 2:22-3:53 at the Oscars then Branagh would have gained the award.
