Bay's contract is back-loaded, he gets 6.5 this season or something like that and then he'll get 16-17 mill the next 3 seasons.

Carlos Marmol? The same Marmol that the Cubs woul not commit to Marmol as their closer (hence Kevin Gregg) for some reason. His K rate has dropped in 3 straight seasons and eventually the BB will catch up to him. His HR/FB was extremely abnormal, and he has turned into a flyball/strikeout pitcher. Just wait until a few more of those flies end up in the seats (2009 xFIP 4.67). Yeah that's just great.

The Mets are not competing for 4th place. They are still a playoff competitor when healthy. Add this guy, Bay, and a couple of other pieces and you've got a really competitive ballclub. Bounce back year for the Mets.
