Pat Boone made some really good records throughout his career...this is one of them, from late 1961. He still had some of his biggest hits ahead of him when this one came out. Most people can take or leave Pat's white cover versions of early R&B classics, but when he had records written especially for him, they were quite good. This one comes from the pen of Paul Evans and Fred Tobias. There is another version of this song available on Warner Brothers by Mimi Roman, who was once married to Paul Evans. You can hear great records like this one live every night on www.topshelfoldies.com!

  • This record sounds exactly like something Mark Wynter did....right down to the vocal, check him out it's almost scary how much they sound alike.

  • I'm very familiar with Mark Wynter, it does remind me of his "Angel Talk". Great record.

  • Oh! I remember those days.. I heard this song in Dubai Fm.92's show called Down the memory lane, a saturday show I think9pm, it was in 1988 I guess and I had a habit to tape down these songs and later in the ninte's I sung this song for our 7th grade class party. It was so nice.

  • Just wonder who has the record for the song "Ten Lonely Guys" by Pat Boone, released about 1961-2. (Neil Diamond sang it when Neil was over 40 years old - I am not a Neil Diamond fan, just like his Song Sung Blue).. I like Pat Boone's version of Ten Lonely Guys.

Thank you for anyone who can provide this Pat Boone song..

  • My fave Pat Boone song! Love it.

  • Pat Boone actually recorded Angel Talk on his 60s album "Tie me kangaroo down sport" I think. "Johnny Will" is one of the finest Pat's songs.

  • Man, I forgot all about this song, haven't heard it in ages! Thanks for jogging my memory banks, this is great!

  • Check out his Boss Beat lp! It is arranged by David Gates, and is brilliant!

  • pay attention to the lyrics--it's about young love. the fear of your loved one being stolen from you because the other guy is "rich." pat boone's nice voice and his excellent diction do justice to this song.

  • Great post!! Thanks!!
