how long should it take to download the dmg and make the patchstick? mines taking unusually long it seems on the first step

@bostonManifesto it took me about 20 minutes total to download the dmg and make the pathstick, I have a DSL connection to the internet running at 6mb per. sec

Yes that is an option under one of the menus, but I did not try because I don't use it.

I get an error every time I try to update third party software, any solutions?

Man I wish I could get this to work. I updated to 3.0.2 and ran the patch. I get SoftwareMenu but updated gave me an error message before restarting finder. Sucessfully loaded Boxee but it won't play any internet content. Says Flash needs to be installed. I guess I got to spend the 40 to get ATV Flash.

Hey Rcat007. Thanks a bunch for this video. I successfully hacked my AppleTV 1st Gen with your instructions. However, I don't have a software menu. I have Launcher and that is it. I updated Launcher, XBMC and Boxee too. Any ideas? Thanks in advanced.

when i install one of the 3rd party plugins like you did , my apple tv goes blank and you cannot see the screen , you then have do a factory restore . You can here all the audio of the atv but not the screen. Please help i am sooo colse to doing this

i tried to do this but it didnt work. . i folLowed the things you said but after plugGing in the power cord, the penguin logo didnt appear and it just continue to function normalLy. . .can you help me?. .pls. . .mine was 3.0.2 to0!. .

please help me i have been working on this all day i made a patchstick but when i plug it into the atv it doesnt even recognize it it just boots up apple :(
