@wmbrown6 Not just that...PIX 11 also brought back the tradition of airing March of the Wooden Soldiers on Thanksgiving, and for the past few years, including this year, an Odd Couple marathon. So they are giving us some old school stuff from their past.

@wmbrown6 True....but I echo the other poster who said that at least WPIX still feels like a New York station somehow, and they are the ones who have honored their past throughout the 2000s and going into the 2010s.

@tapthatt2012 I'm not totally anti-current TV, and think even they have some bright spots sometimes (for what they are). But they still can't hold a candle to the classic era. NOTHING can beat the great time it was to be a watcher in the '70s and '80s. Even small details like the network continuity and closing logos were simply entrancing. Thank you Tap for making that era live again. P.S. you're right, Antenna TV does rule!

@wmbrown6 As much as I miss the 11 Alive years of the 70s and 80s, and the voices of Ralph and Bill, at least they try to make themselves known as the classic independent network they once were with Chiller and the Yule Log, and of course the return to PIX 11 branding.

This may be from December 8, 1985 Tap. The Tales from the Darkside episode referenced aired then, 1985 copyright dates on certain ads, and the 11 Alive branding is still in use.

As always, nice to hear the voice of Bill Biery (as on the "Saturday Movie" bumpers) and of Ralph Lowenstein at the end of most of the promos (following Doug Paul).
Sad to think of how WPIX was in those days, when juxtaposed with the way it is today (their annual "Chiller Theatre" and "Yule Log" revivals notwithstanding).

@wmbrown6 i spent this week going thru tapes and dvds of old programming and realized how much i hate tv now. even tv land , nick at nite and the sci fi channel were enjoyable at one time for this baby boomer. we get antenna tv and that helps fill the void a little.
