The U.S. Olympic Festival (USOF) was an important multi-sport developmental meet in which athletes competed against each other by region. It was held 14 times in different U.S. cities in the non Olympic Games years from 1978-1995.

The 1987 USOF racewalking events were held on the campus of Duke University in Durham, N.C. on July 25 and 26, 1987.

The 35Km walk featured Olympians Marco Evoniuk and Jim Heiring as they battled each other, Randy Mimm, Mark Fenton and the heat and humidity of a hot July day.

The P.A. announcer is Rob Montgomery and the videographer is Ole Holsti.
