Nick: That girl who's pregnant, are you the damn father. [He rammed Joe into the wall and grabbed his collar.]Are you!
Joe: Get off of me! [People were starting to surround them as he shoved his brother off of him.] No! I am not the goddamn father..jesus!
Crowd: Fight! Fight! Fight!
Selena: [She burst through the crowd.] Nick!
Taylor: Joe stop acting so stupid!
Principal: Everyone go back to your classes! Nick & Joe..come with me.
3 minutes later:
Principal: Now explain to me what was going on out there.
Joe: He started it!
Nick: [He rolled his eyes.] What are you, 5?
Principal: Then I have no choice but to suspend the both of you for 3 days.
Joe: [He lied back in his seat, relaxed.] Whatever.
Nick: No not whatever! Miss, I can't get suspended!
Principal: You have no choice in the matter.
Selena: [She knocked on the door.]
Principal: Come in.
Selena: [She slowly plodded in, a little embarrassed.] Uhm..mom please don't suspend them. They didn't even get the least bit physical.
Joe: Mom? She's your mother!?
Nick: Well that explains a lot.
Principal: [She sighed.] Are you sure about this Selena?
Selena: [She nodded her head, afraid to speak.]
Principal: Fine, but you two are staying for detention.
Nick: Perfect.
Selena: No! Me & Nick have to do our project later.
Nick: Selena..that's due in a month! You have plenty of time.
Principal: Exactly. [She turned back to Selena after giving Nick & Joe a furious look.] What happened to your class?
Selena: [She bit her lip.] I cut..
Principal: Well guess who else is staying late today. Excuse me. [She left the office.]
Joe: You didn't have to do that, Sel.
Selena: I wanted too.
Joe: Yeah, well..I'd rather miss 3 days of school than stay late today.
Nick: Joe could you be stupider?
Joe: Yeah, actually. I could, but I choose not to. Later. [He ran off.]
The bell rings.
Nick: Guess I'm stuck with you for the next hour.
Selena: You're obviously not pleased about that.
Nick: Why exactly would I be?
Selena: I just saved you from a suspension that was about to go on your permanent record.
Nick: So now..I have to praise you? [He stood up about to walk out.]
Selena: No..but a thank you would be appreciated.
Nick: Thank you. [He muttered. He wasn't sure why he was acting cruel to the girl he felt love for. Maybe things just aren't the same once you're hurt so badly.]
Detention:
Demi: [She hid her face as Nick & Selena entered together.]
Selena: [She sneakily tugged a piece of Demi's hair.]
Demi: [She faced up and looked at Nick who was standing beside her.] May I help you?
Nick: What? I didn't do that.
Demi: [She scowled at Selena.]
Selena: [She giggled.] So, why are you here?
Demi: Does it matter to you?
Selena: Well whatever. Rumor is you're pregnant. [She announced to the rest of the people in the dead silent classroom.]
Demi: [Her eyes shot open.] I-I don't know what the hell you're talking about, Selena. [She grabbed her things and raced out of the room.]
10 minutes later:
Demi: [She was glad it was raining, because she couldn't stop crying. If Selena knew, by tomorrow she'd be stared down by the entire school. She placed her book bag over her head running past every street, in a failed attempt to not get wet.]
Joe: [He noticed her across the street and smirked.] Poor girl. [He crossed the street, catching up to her and held his umbrella over her.]
Demi: [She quickly wiped her tears realizing who it was.] What. [She snapped.]
Joe: Can't a guy help a damsel in distress?
Demi: Oh yeah, I'm stressed alright. [She sighed.]
Joe: Aww why is that?
Demi: You out of all people should know already. [She rolled her eyes.] Why are you even helping me?
Joe: Well, I bumped into you..it's only humane.
Demi: Yeah. Whatever.
Joe: Are you okay?
Demi: [He truly didn't know, this just made her more infuriated.] No, I am not okay!
Joe: Okay, jeez. Don't have to be so uptight. Just a queston.
Demi: [She rolled her eyes.] If you only knew. [They finally ended up approaching her house, she turned to him.] Uhmm Thank you.
Joe: [He pulled her in by grabbing her at the waist, the umbrella on the floor.]
Demi: Joe, I thought this..us was over.
