Scenes from a historic indigenous gathering held in the Kayapó village in the Amazonian state of Mato Grosso. This assembly was called to discuss the impending human rights and environmental disaster that is the Belo Monte Dam on the Lower Xingu -- in particular the menace it represents to Brazil's indigenous peoples -- and ways for its opponents to forge a single and unified force to resist its construction.

  • HELP!

  • It is so sad to hear that these wonderful people shall loose their home.

How can they do that to these people?

When, oh when will the violence against poor people stop?

  • @uberschnepp Not saying they don't. I didn't reflect my opinion at all. I simply stated what I believe is the opinion of the Brazilian government. I on the other hand believe what just about every other person here believes to an extent. It's a tough situation. Here in the United States, the government holds the right to buy out our land for the interest of the public.

  • @jandaberg123 "... but its useless to explain it to guys like u because u cant understand it" ... know what i mean? stop thinking that i am stupid + stop thinking that i´m a liar. and thats it

  • This is just wrong. It seems as the years progress, the government finds another way to ruin the lives of others. And to some ppl who comment badly, sayin these tribe ppl can just move to another forest, get the hint: this is there HOME! They live their lives following their traditions and beliefs without causing any trouble to locals or others.

The earth is already bein desicrated by the human race, why destroy it more! Tthe earth is more precious than anything! Its there home!

  • the world doesn't belong to us, we belong to this world!

  • Tom Kaulitz is a great person, He brought me here ♥

  • THIS is why I hate human beings. Stop destroying the world.

  • @MarcellaMontanari And for everyone out there who thinks this is human greed and arrogance, let me ask you a question. If I had 10million dollars and I said I could give it to you, or share it among a community living in poverty in Africa? Make your decision wisely.

  • @MarcellaMontanari I think you are the person needing to do some research. Obviously there is a demand for electricity, so a power plant must be built. Would you rather build a dam, or construct a power plant that burns fossil fuels? Seems to me that you don't really care about the environment at all, you would rather burn fossil fuels and pollute the air for everyone.
