An unabashedly powerful reappraisal of the ballet. I wish this version would find a place in the repertoire of some major ballet company so that it could be appreciated live, on-stage, more frequently.

I'm in love with these swan like movements more than classical ballet by women.

Oh, I'm not such a fan of this modern ballet. I am more interested in the classical pieces. Otherwise, this is very well put together.

i have seen the "male swan" version of Swan Lake on dvd and in my opinion it is not gay. The swans in this version represent power and freedom. The prince is a wimp who is overly controlled by the queen and who dreads affairs of state. The lead swan is a mental escape and represents the prince as he would like to be-- self assured, strong, independent, fierce even sightly dangerous. The theme throughout the whole work is whether the swan exists or if he is a mental constructs of the prince.
