This is part 2 of an interview with Moawia Ahmed conducted by Nunu Kidane, Director of Priority Africa Network (www.priorityafrica.org). Mr. Ahmed is the Coordinator of the Greek Forum of Migrants and the President of The Sudanese Community in Greece. The interview took place in Athens at the People's Global Action on Migration, Development and Human Rights in November 2009.

Mr. Ahmed talks about the repressive conditions for refugees in Greece and the work of his organizations.

Nunu Kidane and Gerald Lenoir, Director of the Black Alliance for Just Immigration (www.blackalliance.org) spent two weeks in Italy and Greece to learn more about the plight of African refugees as they make their way to Europe to find work to support themselves and their families back home.

  • what do europeans expect i call it karma, you cant go to africa, extract oil and gold and only leave 5% in africa, you thought it wouldn't bite you in the back when they come seeking their riches. I reckon if european multinationals just play fair no one will bother eleaving for europe. they take fish, as well for next to nothing, what option does a person have, i know african living standards are terrible and its partly why europe is still rich even long after colonisation period.

  • the fact that they are illegal in Greece and by the law it is illegal to use an illegal immigrant in your work doesnt matter for this guy , but he see racism against the blacks LOL if they have so bad time in Greece why they dont try to go back to Afrika ? We even pay them to leave but obviously noone wants to leave . Why they try to pass Evros river if it is ok to come ? Greeks never asked for this mess and obviously NOONE of us has a good time right now . Does this matter to anyone out there?

  • Wecome to Greece our african Brothers!

  • born in Africa but risen in Greece, have all the legitimate papers to live and work,Greece is my first home I do not know other places,my document were issued by Greek Dimos,EU Laws give the right to non-eu with valid residence as equal as the same right of other EU NATIONALS including Greeks, thanks GOD after complained to EU I was treated nicely by GREEK and was given free round ticket to any country in the world valid for one year and dont know where to go until now.

  • @nuramoboy Learn about SENGEN- Greeks can pass with their ID, but NON-SENGEN citizens should be search thoroughly.

  • Races exist mostly in Greece than any EU COUNTRIES,Go to the AIRPORT EL-VENIZELOS and find two departure lines for domestic flights as well as international flights, only Blacks and other foreigners are kept in one side, their documents are kept by authority and hand back to them after an hour and missed flights,I have suffered the same, but go to AIRPORTS and see by your self,go to PORT and no black is allowed to board the boats to Italy.

  • Nunu Kidane built her entire career unmasking bogus claims of Africans' migration while dismissing legitimate issues of the root cause to their exodus as mere political correctness or deliberately avoiding to upset the world picture that the west believes the migration is caused by Africans themselves. If they continue to believe that, they only have to make donations to the coffers of the many NGOs run by people like Nunu Kidane. These NGOs are instruments of African neo-colonization.
