  • @jlamour Sounds like Peter Watchorn.

  • @gr0mithtimon That is your opinion. While I do not take them as gospel, I do find them interesting because they take people out of their narrow perspective, and make them think, In all the arts there is dogmatic thinking and opinions.

  • @shnimmuc

Of course such lists exist, but only an imbecile would take them serious.

  • @gr0mithtimon My statement is not stupid. There are several rankings of composers by critics, Music historians and performers that rate Bach as I indicated. I am a tremendous admirer of Bach and I consider him to be one of the wonders of music. But I do not agree with the statement by tommylgesias. As far as Handel and Beethoven are concerned, there are things they could do that Bach could never do and vice versa. It all boils down to personal taste.

  • @shnimmuc

lol, music rating lists. Are you joking? Talking about stupid statements..

  • It depends which part of Bach you compare them to. Bach wrote more music than anybody, at least 1000 pieces and probably a lot more that have been lost. So there are a lot of very genius pieces in Bach, but some lackluster ones too. The best of Bach, is on a level far beyond most other composers.

The rest of Bach, isn't a proper standard to judge him by but it's STILL better than other composers. BTW folks like Gould and Busoni were only expressing their own personal aesthetic views on music.

  • @tommyIglesias This is a stupid statement. There many great composers before Bach. Even the late G.Gould rated Orlando Gibbons above Bach. In many professional rating lists, Handel and Beethoven are rated over Bach.

  • I'd really like to know who's playing here, the tempo is handled very naturally with appropriate showmanship.

  • @tommyIglesias Dufay.

  • lol thats a pretty acurate statement
