JJ Yeley #1 takes a bad tumble at Lakeside Speedway 8/22/09. Yeley would be transported to KU Med with complaints of neck pain. Hopefully, JJ has a very speedway recovery.

@HyperCam3Vids Yeah,you have no idea how hyperextension works. When your belts are holding your body from moving in an upsidedown impact, your neck and head actually continue to move depending on the amount of force. If the amount of force is too great it will stretch your neck as your neck continues to move, which in many cases, causes it to break. We have a 4 year old who runs the smaller version of these cars, we've did all of the research possible to ensure he has the right safety equipment.

@HyperCam3Vids Wrong. We run HANS devices with our 3-10 year old quarter midget drivers. Even the reps will explain hyperextension and how seat belts don't help with that. The HANS is specifically designed to keep the neck from extending forward and back.

@sasuke1788 Um is does actually since the seat belt goes over the shoulder bit, the seat belts are real tight, doesn't matter what direction the body & head won't move.

@blaneculp HANS is for frontal/side impact. To my knowledge it has no benefits when the impact is upside down.
