lyrics:
so I'm still plodding on,
on a path I cannot see.
so I left it all behind,
for a future where I'm free.

all my dreams had turned to dust,
and my lust for life declined.
all my hopes had gone away,
just a trace left in my mind.

for my will stopped to resist,
I let it take me away.
for my whole world fell apart,
what is left I cannot say.

and everything I was has turned to pain,
and everyone I knew thinks I'm to blame.
and everything I was has turned to pain,
and everyone I knew thinks I'm to blame.
and everywhere I go I feel the same,
and everytime I try I try in vain.

you had come to fill the void,
but you always were forlorn.
you had come into my life,
and you brought both sun and storm.

I could never break its force,
and then I was left to mourn.
I never knew what went wrong,
but you were both sun and storm.

when you came I did not fear,
but the shadow took your side.
when you fell I had to stay,
but I think I've also died.

and everywhere I go I feel the same,
and everytime I try I try in vain.
and everything I was has turned to pain,
and everyone I knew thinks I'm to blame.
and everywhere I go I feel the same,
and everytime I try I try in vain.

A flash animation I have been working on for months now. The songs of mind.in.a.box are a unique blend of dark storytelling that all tie together to create a fictional world that spans an entire album. (Currently, there are 3 albums: Lost Alone, Dreamweb, and Crossroads)

The overall "story" that makes up the music of mind.in.a.box is really up to how the listener perceives it, since the music was written to reflect on the aloneness that humans inevitably suffer. This particular song, Sun and Storm, I felt had many enjoyable elements to it, and decided awhile back to make a short movie about, but eventually evolved into a huge undertaking and effort.

It was difficult at times, as the creative process is, and technology's ability to fail never ceases to amaze me, but I am extremely proud to finally have finished it and to present it to the few but no doubt hardcore fanbase that make up the audience of mind.in.a.box, and maybe even make some new fans.

This is my take on Sun and Storm, with a mix of science fiction, mystery, and sorrow. Please be sure to leave a comment describing how you feel about it. I plan on doing another movie off the Dreamweb album in the future :)

  • I hit *LIKE* for the vid, but it still feels though I'm insulting it.

Wish they had a higher grading for it {:-) .

Your work is very good, you did a fantastic job creating the ambient emotion behind the song.

    You captured the essence well.

Is this your only vid so far, or are there more being worked on?

  • @AnonymousLoki

I appreciate your opinion, and very glad you liked it.

I currently have another animation from the "Dead End" song off the Dreamweb album in progress, but i technically haven't worked on it in over a year because of school, work, and other animation projects, but I do plan to do it one day.

  • this is so fantastic!

so within the miab realm, stef and marcus should be proud!!!!

  • @aurynchildoracle

I actually posted this video on the official miab myspace page, and Stef (I assume its him) personally commented back saying he saw it and was realy impressed, and that he is so proud to have fans like me that create work for them. It blew me away that I directly affected the creator of the music I've come to love!!

  • im SO glad i found this video.. it's great! i work with flash as well but never thought i could make an animation based on their worki discovered mind.in.a.box. 5 years ago and there will always be in a very special place in my heart for their music.. i hope you have listened to their latest album.. best regards from a die-hard fan :)

  • @n0id686yt

Yeah, their music is/was just that inspiring to me, and also shares a very exclusive space in my heart. When music can literally change the very emotion you experience or the mood that you are in, thats when you know something is special.
