When I was growing up, we didn't have electricity, and I remember my Dad hooked up a radio in the house to a car battery so my Mom could listen to some music. And this is the kind of music we heard every day. Wonderful memories of a time gone by. Thanks for posting.

I adore this video. It reminds me of my Great, great grandmother who married my great great grandfather in 1835 when she was 15 years old. She was a Tuscorora Indian born in Columbus County, NC.....they had 13 children and were together till their deaths in Robeson County, NC....in the 1900's.

I love this song. The guy whistleing sounds exactly the man whistleing in the Jim Ed Brown version. The saprano singers or singer makes this version even better. Does anyone know who the sapranos were? or the whistler?
