Alexandria is Egypt's major port and the country's second largest city after Cairo.
Alexandria is known as "The Pearl of the Mediterranean". It has an atmosphere that is more Mediterranean than Middle Eastern.

Founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC, Alexandria became the capital of Greco-Roman Egypt; its status as a beacon of culture is symbolized by Pharos, the legendary lighthouse that was one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Alexandria was also the setting for the stormy relationship between Cleopatra and Mark Antony, in addition, Alexandria was also the center of learning in the ancient world, where it was one of the most famous cities in the world.

i was borne and lived there until I left 28 years ago, one of my favorite spots which you missed is Souq Rateb, it is close to Bab hashara (bab 10), huge market. need to take your shot along the street, capture the smoke rising from the fish and the chicken grills, another market is in el anfoushy next to the castle. thanks brought some tears in my eyes.
