The German Mozart Tenor tradition goes back to end of the 1920s when Mozart Tenors started making use of Caruso’s technique to achieve the required dramatic expressiveness.
References start with: Marcel Wittrich in the 20s and continue with Joseph Schmidt, Peter Anders, Walter Ludwig, Anton Dermota, being Fritz Wunderlich and Francisco Araiza with their secure line of singing, perfect support of the sound and absolute breath control the two latest references of a Mozart Tenor.

The best Mozart tenor ever? What about Dermota, Wunderlich, Simoneau, Schade, Gedda ...?
Yes, I love Araiza's voice, but I don't think you can call him - or any other singer - the best ever.

wow, that made me cry

Superb voice, thanks for uploading! Still think Wunderlich is the tops though.
@vully70 You´re right! but like I wrote, that´s just my personal opinion. I say Wunderlich and Araiza, best Mozart tenors ever, yes"best ever" in Mozart singing. And Araiza the best in Rossini singing. Just watch his Rossini videos live and compare them to Flores, who is suppose to be "the best Rossini tenor ever", I disagree and before Flores you habe many others better than him. For my Araiza was the best sining this repertoire and one of the best in recorded history.

Any doubt that Maestro Araiza is the best Mozart and Rossini tenor of all times (personal opinion of course), and one of the greatest tenor in the history of opera???!!! Thank you for your elegance and beautiful singing. This video by itself is a Masterclass. Superbe!!
