It would be about 20 feet wide and 13 feet high. The bus that will drive over cars. Cars have to be under 2 meters high to travel underneath the upper level carrying passengers.

Are they hiding good ideas from the public to protect Detroit and the auto industry? Lets move forward.

It does seem like a great idea. However, implementation in existing streets will be very difficult. For example, all streets signs, traffic lights, etc. will need to be reinstalled for proper clearance. These buses will require adequate clearance to allow for SUV with boxes on top of them. This also means that lanes where straddler buses go, trucks cannot go. People will need to be disciplined enough to evolve with such bulky vehicles. Last not least, how do you insure emergency exits ?

What an absolutely amazing idea, whoever thought of the straddling bus should get a pat on the back or a very high bonus once project is complete. Buses are a big problem on the city's roads, with this idea no problems it seems.
