And when he gets to Heaven,
To Saint Peter he will tell,
One more soldier reporting in sir,
I've served my time in hell.

Our grandfathers were the best generation of Americans. They were hardworking, honest, and sincere. Their sacrifices made America the greatest country in the world.
Today America is dominated by a whole generation of Ann Coulters. They're all heartless, ruthless, and self-centered. It's because of these young hardnosed skankies that our country is falling apart.

I have just recently retired with 30 years of service in the Marine Corps. I have had the great honor to serve these great veterans for the last five years. Working every day looking for, generate funds and fly these vets to DC to see the WWII memorial. Honor Flight brings WWII vets free to DC. If you know one send them our way while we can...

they did not go because they were forced they did not go for glory they did not go for territorial gain they went because there was an evil in the world that need to be stopped they went to protect their country they went because it was the right thing to do and they went without any regard for thier own safety but safety of the man next to them and the people they were liberating thats what makes them the greatest generation a generation my grandfather was proudly apart of.

"Peace is a precious and a desirable thing. Our generation, bloodied in wars, certainly deserves peace. But peace, like almost all things of this world, has its price, a high but a measurable one. We in Poland do not know the concept of peace at any price. There is only one thing in the lives of men, nations and countries that is without price. That thing is honor." J.BECK

This is so sad... God bless America, honor all of her heros

Ive heard stories about this war from my grandfatehrs and great Uncles that give me nightmares. These men and women deserve so much more than what they were given

@lucifer898 Indeed they do. The war was so bad that there are not enough books to contain the horrors of it. I have read and studied this war for a long time and I still to this day see new things and read new stories that shock me to the core. God bless them all...they are my hero's.

I agree with you likeaglove123. With each year that passes people are forgetting more and more about WW2 and the importance of those veterans. Sad. I like the story about you posting that to fb. Interesting to hear the response you received from likes.

no canadians?

@MrBuzzingbeaver There most likely is a Canadian or two in the video. Not all vets wear their traditional uniforms or insignias.
