A very special version of "HANGMAN" recorded by my good friends "LEIGH ASHFORD". The version that they heard and that inspired their own arrangement, was the later version with David Kindred & Ray Nowak from early '69. This is from an un-released album Produced by "Guess Who" producer, Jack Richardson. The guys asked me to do a guest vocal, which was greatly appreciated! You won't find much music on the net that is more PSYCHEDELIC than this!!!
Dave Bingham - vocal
Gord Waszek - guitar & bkg vocals
Bruno Weckerley - organ & bkg vocals
Joe Agnelo - bass & bkg vocals
Wally Cameron - drums
Dave Cairns, who was their original drummer came down with appendicitis just before the sessions for this never-released album & Wally sat in for him!

  • "Buzz" was Bruno Weckerle ...he was a brilliant young musician and he is on the recording recorded in New York and produced by Jack Richardson. Bruno died several years ago.

  • "Buzz" was Bruno Weckerle ...he was a brilliant young musician. Sadly he died several years ago.

  • I saw the band a few times in the late 60's. Following Newton on organ was a young

kid named 'Buzz', don't recall his last name

  • WOW! Great to hear Wally, Joe, & Gord doing this fine version, but isn't that the late Newton Garwood (R.I.P.) on the Hammond? Sure sounds like him. Wonder why it was never released......and Q107 should have their asses kicked for not playing this!

  • Awesome stuff! I've never understood why they haven't gotten the recognition that they so obviously deserve. All these years of Psychedelic Psunday on Q107 and I've never heard any Leigh Ashford tunes being played! I remember I once phoned in and requested some Moxy, and they said there weren't enough listeners to merit them (Q107) playing Moxy, what a bunch of BS, It really boggles the mind!!

  • The different line up of musicians really gives it a marvelous 'alternate' sound. Brings back a lot of memories (or is it 'acid flashbacks'). Those were some of the best days of music in Toronto.
