My journey to String Theory began in 2005, the centenary year of Einstein's theory of special relativity, when I began to look for a way that art and science inter-relate. By November 2006 I invented the art of Color-field splash and related it to String theory, often referred to by physicists as the theory of everything.

If you take a pile of spherical magnets and pull on opposite ends, it'll stretch out into a string also. There's a large energy gap between the strong scale ~10^-17 meters and the planck scale ~10^-35 meters. That means there are a lot of planck domains, 1,000,000,000,000,000,000, can span a quark domain. That might be more planck domains than the number of molecules of paint on that canvas.

The interplay between art and physics is fascinating and thought-provoking, adding a new dimension to a beautiful picture.
