Filipino Ministry of St Mary-Huntley

Let us build a house where love can dwell and all can safely live, a place where saints and children tell how hearts learn to forgive. Built of hopes and dreams and visions, rock of faith and vault of grace, here the love of Christ shall end divisions. ||: All are welcome (3 times) :|| in this place.

Let use build a house where prophets speak, and words are strong and true, where all God's children dare to seek to dream God's reign anew. Here the cross shall stand as witness and as symbol of God's grace. Here as one we claim the faith of Jesus. ||: All are welcome (3 times) :|| in this place.

Let us build a house where love is found in water, wine and wheat, a banquet hall on holy ground, where peace and justice meet. Here the love of God through Jesus is revealed in time and space, as we share in Christ the feast that frees us. ||: All are welcome (3 times) :|| in this place.

Let us build a house where hands will reach beyond the wood and stone to heal and strengthen, serve and teach and live the Word they've known. Here the outcast and the stranger bear the image of God's face. Let us bring an end to fear and danger. ||: All are welcome (3 times) :|| in this place.

Let us build a house where all are named, their songs and visions heard and loved and treasured, taught and claimed as words within the Word. Built of tears and cries and laughter, prayer of faith and songs of grace, let this house proclaim from floor to rafter: ||: All are welcome (3 times) :|| in this place.

  • I love this song, we always sang this song in the opening.

  • the speed is fine. I actually prefer piano to organ anymore, as the piano is lighter in sound and not heavy and overpowering.

  • I truly love this hymn, but I just want to say that I feel in my heart that this hymn should be sung "a bit SLOWER". Not trying to criticise, I play this hymn on my keyboard each day, & I just feel that it sounds "so much better" when it's played on a church pipe organ. I have a very good friend who's a church organist, & she's VERY professional in her field......& also very wonderful & talented in her God-given gift!

  • Ahah I Just Sang This Song In Church Todayy!

  • This is one of my very favorite hymns....I agree, "the pipes" would sound much better, than the piano. I do think, however, this song should be sung just a little bit slower. I have a yamaha here at my house, I play this song "every single day", mainly just to glorify the Lord....he's aware of my intentions, & besides this hymn, I play many other Catholic hymns as well, just for "praise & glory". I've got a misalette here, I also sing along, as I play...this comes straight from my heart!

  • does anyone have a version with verse 5 (and the beautiful descant) included? the OCP website has only a short preview clip :(

  • I find it refreshing to hear something other than pipes!
