Ar. Sarly Adre Sarkum, 34
Architect
Born dyslexic, Ar. Sarly battled the stigma of being a slow learner at a young age. Going against the odds, he won an essay competition and set his heart on building the nation. Now an architect and the youngest council member of Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (Malaysian Institute of Architects), he also holds an office in the Malaysian Green Building Council. Besides that, he also volunteers at a shelter home in Gombak and hopes to improve the standard of living in the area. Recently, two of his designs were chosen to represent Malaysia at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
