i happen to think these series of commercials was a mirror being held up to a part of society who believe they know it all...if we're to even believe that's a real hidden camera and not staged for effect.
If you can't tell the difference between freshly brewed and instant, its time you found a new coffee house.

they should have added in the word grouchy to the folgers jingle so it would have said the best part of waking up grouchy is folgers in your cup
