I wish it was this easy docking our boat at murrels inlet..

I was just getting used to the new boat in a empty dock to make sure when the dock is full and the wind is blowing I would be able to get it docked without hitting another boat or slam the dock

@twolittlehams You look like a smart boater--going slow, sorting it out and learning your boat on a calm day. Too many times, in my area, people just "buy the boat" then drive it, even though they really don't know how.

nice job....not too bad for a practice. my nickname when i started driving boats was "kamikaze docker" u can never dock too slow LOL

I'll tell you, more than once, even though I feel like I "get it" I have been glad that I have had people positioned, with repelling poles, at the rear and front of the boat. You can have wind that is contrary to current--I'm thinking specifically when going into a slip--so you think you have it, then out of nowhere, it is heading hard into a dock, or worse, other boat, and SO glad the people with poles (with soft tips) were there.
