A selection of jigs for a rare performance of the the brush dance by John Collins. The music is provided by fellow West Limerick musicians John and Willie Larkin (banjo and accordion), Patricia Wright and Anita Deely (fiddles) and Aileen Dillane on piano.
This music was recorded at the special concert of West Limerick music organized by the Munster council of Comhaltas at the Munster Fleadh in Newcastlewest, Co. Limerick in July 2007.

Interesting to see an Irish Brush/Broom Dance. I have learned some English Broom dances and making comparisons like tis is interesting.
Just as comparing different styles and traditions of step dance is also interesting,
The people who sneer at traditions and traditional dances need to get themselves some pride and , I suggest, they should try it..... I predict that they would soon find how difficult it can be to dance the steps and to keep going for any length of time.
More please...
