Where do you live? Ego/mind living is tiring, worrisome, and negative. When we surrender to the now we feel light, free, and life is synchronistic. Becoming attuned to our inner universe provides feedback to guide our lives.

So, if I feel a negative emotion, observe. It's not the negative emotion that can be a problem, but how I choose to respond. I understand examples like a rainy day, but what about crisis situations? My son is autistic and often has incredible, even violent mood swings. How do I stay centered and in control of my emotions in the heat of the moment?

The key to crisis situations is preparation. Like a runner prepares for a marathon. Be ready for the mood swings before they happen. Meditation and visualization are great practices. Visualize seeing your son having one of his mood swings. Then practice seeing yourself reacting calmly toward it.

Also practice acceptance in small areas of your life then gradually work your way up to the more difficult things. Resistance is what truly causes us to suffer and not circumstances.

It's called "the weather" practice. You roll with what IS.

Suffering in life is a given. But the second arrow, pain, is optional. When you let pain affect you in a negative way is called suffering or the second arrow. You can also focus on your body's sensations instead of the breath to bring you back to this moment in time. What we resist persists.

Thank you for sharing your view of Eckert's teaching. What you have described has been my own experience.

For me, getting to the point of Floating like a Feather is a process. I thank you for this reminder.
