  • should i buy the skimmer? How did you break it in

  • @TheIndyreefman I wouldn't by the hang on skimmer again. I would opt for an In Sump skimmer even if it mean getting a lesser quality skimmer. The skimmer I have works fine and skims very well but is very noisy since it's outside the enclosed cabinet.

  • @TheIndyreefman to break the skimmer in.. i had to clog the air vents on the lid with Q-tips and put something heavy to keep the lid down (like a glass of water) since amount of bubbles while breaking it in will push the top off. I fitted a new tube to the overflow port to a 5 gallon bucket and let the skimmer run. essentially doing about 2-4 gallon water change thru the skimmer. (took about 1 hour to break in)

  • that unknown coral is called anthilia coral I got mine for free and I think u got yours for free or u got it cheap or something?

  • @uploaderdude1 I got if on a frag of zoos. It spread through my tank like a wild fire and right now took the rock it was on out of my tank to kill it b/c it was getting out of control. Not sure how to kill it b/c i scrapped most of it off the rock once before and didn't get it all b/c of the nook and crannies and it grew back. So trying to kill it b/c i liked the rock it ended up taking over.

  • @runimuk22 oh ok but can u tell me what is the best lighting fixture u use to grow corals my power compacts are not strong enough do u think power compacts are not strong to grow corals???

  • @uploaderdude1 depends on how deep you tank is. My using only the wattage from my 24" T5 fixture my corals were growing slow at the bottom of my tank, but i just moved them on the rocks closer to the light source. They are now growing almost twice as fast as they were on the bottom of my tank.

  • Nice...

  • @holyshitballsss thanks!

  • @Slothmother I don't know... I put a few extra in there so they wouldn't kill each other or kill any snails to get a new bigger shell, but I guess I never really bothered to take out the old ones if a hermit or snail happens to die. I have about 30-35 hermit crabs in there.

  • why so many empty hermit crab shells??
