I built a game table for my game room. We typically play Dungeons and Dragons, but it can be adapted easily for any game. The top table is not attached at all... it just sits on the bottom table with felt.

I'm certainly no carpenter, but it came out awesome for our needs.

Dimensions
- Bottom Table: 48 inches x 72 inches - about 27 inches tall
- Top Table: 36 inches x 51 inches - about 7.5 inches tall

Materials:
- 2 sheets of AB plywood - $100
- 2x4, 1x2, and 4x4 lumber - $100
- Stain, polyurethane and brushes - $30
- Carriage bolts, screws, finish nails, sand paper - $40
- LED light (2 sets of 3) - $80

So about $360 iirc.

  • @jwashe1234 Thanks for the insight.

  • Very Good job! It's simple and very efficient

Myself, I might have built the DM Screen as supports for the second layer, thus eliminating 2 legs.. But thats easy to say. I have yet to build one, so yours is WAY better than mine. :)

  • @Pipedog42 Build it and post a video!

Oh fuck off back to your pit

  • a VERY nice table. I have been planing (fantasying) about a table simuler to this but with a projector pointing down on the top table for a virtual table to be projected. Sill you have built your were as mine is still pie in the sky. Good day and good gaming to you sir !

  • Very neat idea to make this! I love the personal lighting!

  • @jimgoings I like 4th. But people complain about everything. They will once again complain about 5th. To each his own.

  • As long as I have a format to come up with a story, and tell that story with interactive players, I think the system works out fine. It gives everyone something cool to do in combat, and still preserves the feel I want as a DM. While I enjoy 3rd edition, there is not much wrong with 4th edition. It makes the players feel epic - if used correctly-.

  • I'd love to have the space for a dedicated gaming room
