Initial testing of Earthquake Protector, developed by Valentin Shustov (CSUN and CSULB), was supported by NSF ("SGER: Testing of a New Line of Seismic Base Isolation", CMMI-0618183). Research software called Earthquake Performance Evaluation Tool (EPET) was developed by Sergey Shustov. Concurrent experiments were performed at the UC San Diego Large High Performance Outdoor Shake Table (LHPOST) with the operational support from The George E. Brown, Jr. Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (NEES), from CECEM Department of California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and from Basseri Engineering, Santa Monica, CA. Earthquake Protector proved to be many times more effective than any known type of seismic base isolators.
