At a press conference, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), a leader in the Senate Democrat Majority, responds to Gov. Mitch Daniels' (R-IN) lament that, "[W]hen President Obama claims that the state of our union is anything but grave, he must know in his heart that this is not true."

Schumer says, "The Republican speaker last night, Mitch Daniels, talked about Americans must talk about the state of the union as grave. So, we think we are in great shape. We are in good shape."

For liberals, the most pressing issue of the day is how much money somebody else earned. For those with common sense, it's Obama's spending $5.2 trillion, more than all other presidents combined...in just three years...which means we wont' collect the social security we've paid into our entire lives because you "progressives" are in denial about the fiscal realities of a well running dry...if Obama had an "R" next to his name, perhaps only then would you realize how bad he's screwed us.

@endeliz...Obama inherited a bad economy...but the point is that his policies have exacerbated the problem, as evidenced by the country is in much worse shape now due to his policies...$5.2 trillion in new spending, a stimulus that didn't produce those "shovel ready jobs" he promised, a real unemployment rate of 11%, a focus on a healthcare bill OVER jobs (a bill the majority doesn't want), saying NO to the Keystone Pipeline which would create 20,000 jobs..but in your mind, a good job.
