I had the privilege of hearing Elman in a recital during my student days. It was a memorable experience.

Ave Maria is a very melancholic touching song.... Elman played it with heart and soul.

It was acoustic recording. No microphones. The musicians played into megaphones. Very tinny sounding.

This is not recorded in 1913. It's definitely an electric recording. I guess this was recorded in 1929 - as far as I can remember.

actually, i don't have precision but as this series of records dated 1910-1913, i though that was 1913 but you must be right; if it's an electric recording, sure it's 1929!!
