Kyōgen is a short funny play generally performed between acts of a Nō play.
This one, "Obagazake", is about a woman who has a sake shop and a lout for a nephew.
The nephew dons a demon mask and scars the wits out of Auntie.
He then steals her sake and gets so drunk that he fell asleep with the mask on his knee.
I'm sure he was bruised for days after the beating he would have surely received :P
From which family were the actors? I saw Shigeyama family play their kyogen Shimizu and I think this is really similar style.

I'm not too sure about the family, but I believe these are some of the actor's names : Yukifusa Takeda, Yoshito Sekine, Kenkichi Tonoda, Takashi Zenchiku and Ryuhei Zenchiku.

It was the first time for me to see this type of play, it was interesting, but I though it was too long...

Steups... I wanted to see when he come in to get the sake in the beginning man! You eh have that?! I like how he was moaning in the end though!!!! NICE vid!

He took a LOOOOONG time to actually go to the sake.
This play was funny, but too long. Too many speeches that may have been terribly funny back in the days of yore when folks coulda actually understand what was being said. But now... Anyhow, I really appreciate that they stuck to the original. If they had used more modern Japanese, I woulda complain about that too :P
